Nice work...

Next to spins another hot topic we always have is about on2 dancing. Maybe we could have a sticky thread for on2 dancing? That would certainly stop the creation of more threads.. lol.

While I appreciate the idea, we should either have an index that lists on1 threads, on2 threads, Casino threads, etc. that a thread for only one such style. IF someone takes the time to compile such a list the staff will be more than happy to make it a sticky!

While I appreciate the idea, we should either have an index that lists on1 threads, on2 threads, Casino threads, etc. that a thread for only one such style. IF someone takes the time to compile such a list the staff will be more than happy to make it a sticky!

I think it's a great idea, but I doubt that any single person has enough time and motivation to collect all relevant threads. So what about instead having a new thread where everybody is going to add relevant threads and the first posting is edited by some mod, like the "salsa congress" posting or the "index" one?

There was an informal spinning contest at the DC congress this year, here's the video that shows how many spins some great dancers can do:

I was at that congress; it was incredible. Leon Rose is a pretty awesome dancer. But everybody there was incredible such a humbling and inspring experience, cant wait to go this year
 
Hmmmm... there's actually a spin topic missing from here. Spin styling. I suppose I can start the thread. Will try to compose some pictures for ease of discussion.....

How is that even possible?

I have tried spinning on the ball on my feet, but i can't keep straight. So how does this guy do it?

No, he's spinning just on the ball of his foot, not flat. You can see his body rise slightly at 00:57s as he enters the spin. You push up on the leg you are standing/rotating on either during your preparation or as you enter the spin, which straightens it and helps you balance.
